 Baobab 3 Tree

This artwork is the result of a barter.
I use a mouth switch to operate my computer more effectively, the best switch I've come across is manufactured in the USA, at approximately $35 a piece it's a pricey item, especially if you chew through 2 a month.

The company's name is Conceptus and the owner, Dick Henry, is a great guy and very approachable, so I sent him an email with the sales line: " You can't afford my paintings and I can't afford your switches, lets trade? ".

Luckily, Dick checked out my web site and liked my work, he's choice was the Baobab tree and because I don't like doing copies, I decided to make a cool original.

It is now done, this is the end product:

Baobab Tree oil painting

An original with some sybolizm, The light at the root is meant to symbolize that the Baobab Tree gets its energy from its roots as well.

I put the rocks into the composition at the end because the canvas fell and got punctured, I used oil paint to mend the wound, you won't be able to find the patch I think.

Disaster Strikes...

Oil painting goes missing

A friend sends me a video the following day, 3 February, "That is the answer" I think to myself...

Time to do what you know you must do... it's hard, no denying that, but is there another more effective way?

6 February, I get this mail:

Baobab oil painting on canvas arrives
