Gateless Gate
By Dieter Marzinger, mouth painter
oil painting on canvas

A conceptual artwork inspired by the Buddhist principle, my interpretation:
We all have our restictions that we foster in our minds, perceptions that limit
us, immensely powerful gates. Once we pass through these gates by sheer will power, accident or forced
necessity do we realize that those gates were elusions, but only then. The Gateless Gate is a projection.
On the practical side, this project intimidates me, ironic I know, probably because I have no
real idea where it is going to, also doing stars and interstellar structures, although beautiful, is not easily
achieved with a paintbrush in your mouth. I'll keep going on it...
Here are some images I got that are mind blowing:

I was tempted to get some paint on a toothbrush, find someone willing to lend their hands and
spray the canvas but that felt wrong, I couldn't call it mine then, so it's the long way then for me...

Can anyone give me an intellectual reason why we see rings and crosses in this image below?
"It's the distortion of the lense" does not meet the intellectual requierment. Contact me

OK, that was the tame stuff, let me show you some crazy stuff...
"Star Birth"

Last one, from Hubble, they called it the best, I agree!

Amazing images, greater than my imagination I'm going to try incorporate some of
it in my design.
