Whaoooo, what a
bash!
The Woodstock Party was a
great success.

I got in the chair at 6 O’clock and started preparing my presentation of
15min.

We used a data projector on a big screen to inter act with the guests of ±120
people.

The venue was packed nicely around a bonfire, candles every where and
a
makeshift stage under a gazebo.

I include some of my Power Point Presentation Slides:

I welcomed everyone as an introduction and then gave a presentation of my
life.
I concluded with “lessons learnt” and how I cope.
“lessons learnt”:
What irritates you in others is actually what you don’t like in
yourself.
Be kind to people because everyone is fighting their own
battle.
How I cope:
One day at a time.
A belief that I have something to offer the world
And lastly:
Then the fun
started:
In the middle of his polished performance Mathys
invited his friend, Andre
Swiegers,to join him and the most awesome “Unplugged”
session started.

Mathys Roets did some amazing songs, his voice is a velvet baritone and I was
thrilled
with his renditions of Leonard Cohen.
A couple of video’s are to be published on my website soon, stay tuned.
We had a rain scare during the performance but it didn’t stop the flow, nobody
moved,
Everyone sat in the rain, spellbound, nobody cared... luckily the rain ended
quickly.
The rapport between Mathys Roets and the audience was amazing, communication
from
the crowd was encouraged and laughing was frequent.
A quick auction followed Mathys Roets’ show, this was
the painting:

A great auctioneer, Schalk , got R8,000 for the painting in under 8min.
A decent price that I’m very happy with.

Proud owners of "After Glow" – Mark and Sally-Ann Fischer.
The Woodstock “Lucky Draw” followed quickly after,
prizes went to:
Francois Smith -Collection of wines…
Hannes Dreyer -Microlight flight…
Philip Coetzer -Original Marzinger oil
painting…
Klein Jan Tromp, who isn’t small, concluded the evening
with a “thank you” and the evenings
agenda was done at 9.45pm.
Many people greeted me before leaving and suggested that a Woodstock
Party should be held regularly, I agree, this was a very successful event, we
collected ±R26, 600 from ticket sales,
R8, 000 from auction, totalling a cool R34, 600.
Because Mathys Roets and a lot of friends were so generous with
time, effort and contacts.
This bash only cost 2 paintings and ±R1.000, -so naturally a high% profit
margin was shown. That was good organization I think and working on the same
business model will make Woodstock 2 successful again.

The only negative, as a post mortem, I can think of was
not enough time spent with people, I was mostly greeting and saying a few
lines, then moving to the next person.
I accept that is the nature of things.

If anybody took offence, make arrangements to stay longer next time, the after
party was a different affair …
a small group stayed on after most left, last man standing, Douw
Venter,
till 03.30 Tuesday morning. BRAVO!!!
Conclusion:
Thanks to everyone who participated, because of you I am going to stand on my own two
feet... SOON!
The "Get Dieter off his ass" fund has over shot the
goal
of R95, 000 for the standing wheelchair -the deposit has been paid and delivery is expected end
of October 2010.
I'll keep you posted
China!
